Joe was my barber for 25 years. He was not only an excellent barber but a kind, thoughtful, and intelligent gentleman. During haircuts he would describe incidents from his remark-able boyhood in Buffalo's tough Dante Place. Accounts of some of them he tape recorded so that I could make a typed copy for him. Joe was also talented amateur artist and woodworker who was unduly modest about his work. They don't make men like Joe any more. My condolences to his relatives on his passing that has freed him from his lengthy final illness. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
