SULLIVAN - Edward J. Beloved husband of Eileen (nee Barske) Sullivan; father of Edward B. (Lynn Marie) Sullivan, Mary Oliver and Margaret (John) Osler; grandfather of Daniel (Kristin) Sullivan, Claire (Jim) King, Megan Sullivan, Katherine Oliver and Kristen and Julia Osler; great-grandfather of Eleanor Sullivan; brother of Teresa Dolan and Catherine (late Robert) Ulles; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ed was born in Guilford, Connecticut on October 17, 1925 and grew up in Connecticut. A product of Guilford public schools he graduated from Guilford High School in 1943. Immediately after graduation he joined the Navy during WWII and served on a heavy cruiser in the European Theater. After the war he attended Quinnipiac College, Stone College and the University of New Haven. Ed started his career with the Masten Wright Corp. an export and import company in New Haven, CT. He represented that company on numerous trips throughout Central and South America, including the Caribbean Islands. In later years he joined the Ferro Corp. in West Haven, CT, and in 1976 transferred to the Ferro Corp's plant in Buffalo, NY. He has lived in Orchard Park since 1976. Ed was Customer Service Manager for the Connecticut and Buffalo plants of the Ferro Corp. He was active in his church having served as president of the Nativity Of Our Lord Parish Council and at one time co-chairman of the Catholic Charities drive at the Nativity Parish. He had served as a Eucharistic Minister at Nativity for many years, and for several years was a volunteer worker with Eileen at Father Baker Manor in Orchard Park. Ed enjoyed wood working, fishing and boating (in boats he built himself while living on the Connecticut shoreline). He particularly enjoyed traveling both in the United States and overseas. Ed and Eileen took several trips to Europe with friends, his own children and grandchildren. For many years he, Eileen and the family spent winter months on Hilton Head Island off the coast of South Carolina. Ed and Eileen celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in June.
