David was truly one of the best humans. When he was a student, he would often join in our SMILE Club activities or share something special that he was doing and loving in class. After his time with us at the high school, he’d still be sure to visit and say hello, share a story or two about where life had taken him, and ALWAYS with that smile. Just a couple of months ago, he was visiting the high school and stopped by my room to catch up and say hello. As always, his enthusiasm was so bright and, behind that mask, his smile even brighter. If we were all capable of just a little bit of the kindness and joy that David carried with him everywhere, the world would be a remarkably better place. He will be so missed. Keep smiling down on us, David. Rest peacefully.
