It’s difficult to put into words the connection I felt with Tom. From the moment I met him on that job on Lower East Hill in Colden he had an affect on me. His attention to detail was unmatched. His knowledge of stonework and plants, trees, and shrubs astonished me. Keeping up with him was a challenge to say the least. I used to tell people that if ya wanted to learn how to do it the right way, Tom was the guy to teach you.
On thé personal side we hit it off from the jump. Somehow our personalities clicked and we were able to share many of our life experiences and learned from one another. I loved his stories of how the land used to be in the area and where he and his brothers and friends would adventure. There was a poetry in the way he spoke about it. I used to stop in OP and grab us each a coffee on the way into work, always black. I’ll always remember when he’d see me he’d say my whole name in this way that made me laugh.
Of the many qualities I cherished about Tom, the one that will always stick out the most was the way he spoke about his daughters. The love that radiated from him when he shared w me stories about them or told me about their activities from the day before was what made him tick. His girls were his world. I am so glad I was able to tell him that that quality about him was what I’d always hold dear. We both knew we loved one another and shared a common bond. I’ll miss you old friend. Rest easy.
Condolences to all his family, friends, and loved ones.

Tom was a great friend that offered anything yet asked for nothing. He was a true friend and the only shame was I didn’t have a chance to know him better. God bless him.
