Alice was a remarkably talented woman! She altered my daughter, Kelsey’s wedding dress, made the table center pieces etc. She also provided 5 of my family members with a quilt of valor. I will always cherish our visit as her and Tim as they both had a wonderful sense of humor.

Alice Baird was a remarkable woman. She was a master of may skills. She could sew anything, she was a sharp shooter. She once killed a copper head snake in my driveway with one shot. Tim always bragged that she was a better shot than he was. She set the tile on the backsplash in my kitchen. The quilts that she created were beautiful. She was always doing and making things for others. Always cheerful.

I met Alice in 1978. I was 17 and she was 27. She had been through a very difficult time in her life and had 3 beautiful blonde haired blue eyed boys.
I was a newlywed and didn’t have a clue!
There are so few people on life that have such joy that you can’t help but laugh and want to be around them. Alice was one of them.
Alice could knit, crochet, tole paint, refinish furniture, can, sew…she was amazing!
We needed each other at the time we met. We were each other’s cheerleaders.
The Lord knew we would need such a good friend that would span the years. And he put us together.
I am so grateful to God for her life.
She had such a kind, compassionate, fun personality.
She enriched my life and loved me like a sister.
I can’t wait to see her and Tim again.
I love and miss her. ❤️

Alice was a wonderful person! She was a member of our church in Lancaster, SC. She held two high teas for the ladies, helped us make 13 quilts for each veteran in the church, showed us how to make prayer pockets, and she and Tim donated a beautiful baptismal font. She sang in our choir and was a valued member. She never complained about her cancer or other infirmities. She was my next door neighbor for several years and I will miss her greatly, as will all the members of our church who loved her.
