Sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I knew him as both a judge and a member of EACC. I most enjoyed playing golf with him on several occasions. He will me missed at EACC and in particular Mulligans.

I’ve known Fred since the 1970’s. We went to Sweden together with the Buffalo State big band. He helped me with my first house and I would see him regularly at various big band rehearsals where we would always share a conversation and enjoy a good laugh. He was a good man. I will miss him.

Our sincerest condolences on the passing of Fred. Fred was my mom’s cousin and while we didn’t spend a lot of time together he was always a gracious and thoughtful member of my family. I’ll always remember Fred as a caring father and friend. Our thoughts and prays go out to his family during these difficult times.

Our deepest condolences to Fred's family. We've known Fred since high school. He was a fabulous musician dating back to our days in the Quaker Checkmates where we all had so much fun. When we adopted our twin daughters Fred handled the legal details for us and made it a wonderful memory for us that we will never forget. We will be forever thankful. You will be sorely missed by so many friends Fred. RIP.

Judge Marshall was a kind, patient and fair justice. He handled complex medical malpractice cases, always with compassion and fairness and always taking the time to understand the medicine. I had the privilege of appearing before him through the years and I always appreciated him as a jurist. He will be missed.

Justice Marshall was an exemplary member of the judiciary. The very first motion I ever argued in open court was in front of The Honorable Frederick Marshall - I was terrified. As was his way, he was serious and exacting when it came to the law, but kind and patient as well. By the end of the motion, he made me feel like I belonged in the courtroom just as much as the well-practiced lawyers who surrounded me. I always loved appearing before Judge Marshall - he was a one-of-a-kind, smart, compassionate, straight forward jurist. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. God bless, Mary G. Carney

There was an outpouring of sorrow, sympathy and respect by his judicial colleagues in their intranet email chain as word spread of Fred’s passing. I believed Fred’s strong will and optimism would defeat his illness and I am very sad that it overcame him. He was always friendly and kind to me for which I will always be grateful. I greatly respected him as a judge and musician. Fred was a good man and I am very sorry that he is no longer physically with us.
Rest in peace Fred.

Fred was one of my first, and best friends in Orchard Park. He welcomed me as the new kid on the block, so typical of his legacy, a good friend to all. His nick name at the time was "Foo", and that is how I will remember him, a fun loving, true friend, hard working, and dedicated.

Many members of the Collins Center Fire Company have very fond memories of this wonderful man. It was a pleasure to visit with him and his amazing wife, Jody, at our Installation dinners and a true honor to take our oaths of office before him. Sincere condolences to Jody and families.

Fred Marshall was a caring, honest, good person. I served in the Erie County Legislature with Fred as Republican leader. Fred was always loyal, stong and highly principled. My prayers are with his family now. Faithfully, Brian D. Rusk

It is an absolute privilege I have been given in being part of Fred’s family through marriage. From the day I met Fred his aura and presence was as big and as bright as life itself. So very kind. Such a welcoming and loving heart. It was truly an honor meeting you Fred. You will remain in my heart until we meet again one day. Healing wishes to your entire family.
