The Narbe Family,
My sincerest sympathy to the entire family. Though we have not met, I knew Bruce through golf. He was a gentle, kind man, soft spoken and always friendly. I didn't see Bruce often but always felt the sincerity when he spoke. Your family is in my prayers.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Bruce. I was fortunate to have been introduced to Bruce several years ago by our mutual friends, Baxter Luther and Jimmie Johnson. Based on this introduction, Bruce was kind enough to consider me and Mattie as additional members of his "extended family" and invite me to park my motor home in his Penske Truck lot in Daytona Beach during Speedweeks. Every year I looked forward to seeing Bruce for some good conversation and fellowship between "northerners and southerners". Bruce was always accommodating and attentive to his "visiting family" and I'm sure he would get a chuckle out of hearing me now describe him as having all the attributes of "a true Southern Gentleman". As we say in North Carolina, "he was a good one" and "he will be missed". Rest in peace dear friend and thanks for the memories.

Dear Theresa, Lauren, Christina
I worked with Bruce for years, and got to know what a delightful person he was.
He had a demanding, stressful business, but on good days and bad, his humor always came through.
I will miss him.

I have already sent flowers but wanted to take a moment to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Bruce was a very special person and we worked together for so many years and became good friends. I have not talked to him recently, but the last time I did he shared his plans on getting organized enough to reduce his hours and work towards retirement to enjoy another stage in life. But, his time on earth was cut much too short, and while I totally believe that he is in a really good place now, it is the people left behind that suffer the most. Emotions run high when we lose a loved one but the suddenness of Bruce's passing makes it even worse as no one was prepared. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I share your sorrow.

I spent many youthful hours with Bruce and his brothers -church activities, wiffleball in their side yard, dead-of-winter basketball games in his uncle's hay loft, tackle football in the Ridge, a week long canoe trip to the Algonquin's, softball games - the list goes on.
Although we did not communicate often enough since becoming adults, Bruce would always treat me like his long-lost best friend when I made the trip to WNY. He always asked how and what I was doing, and was genuinely interested in the answers - he was a good friend.
Whenever someone exits this world unexpectedly, you go through the many regrets that you did not get a chance to say 'goodbye good friend'.
Many condolences to those closest to him.
P.S. In a cabinet in my living room I still keep a softball that Bruce gave me when coaching upon which he neatly lettered 'Player of the Week' and gave all my baseball stats. It is a fond memento of our relationship.

What sad news in learning my friend Bruce has left us. I have had a great friendship with Bruce for over 20 years and during those early years I got to know him and his two wonderful daughters Lauren and Christina. Last September while visiting WNY Bruce and I met for breakfast and talked about our kids and how we had enjoyed watching our families grow up in Orchard Park. To all who knew Bruce you know he was a special man and a giving individual who was willing to help anyone asking for his support. He loved his family and his friends and I regret I did not see him that often over these last 13 years since moving to Nebraska but we talked regularly which confirmed to me his unquestionable friendship.
Girls, you need to carry on your father's love and service to others and I know you will do just that. You two will always be in my memory and my love to the both of you.
Also, I want to recognize the staff at Golf World for their loyalty to Bruce and for the fun Bruce and my family had out at their shop, especially the golf cart races in the lot next to their shop. You guys are the best.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Bruce. Even though I left New York State and moved to Arizona in 1977 some of my best memories were of my years growing up in Orchard Park. Even though I was not a member of the Wesleyan church the Narbe's,Yox's and the Downer's treated me like family. I used to play basketball with Bruce a long time ago when they first built the gym behind the church. Great memories I will always cherish. My thoughts and prayers are with the Narbe's family. To all the Narbe clan, Mary and I were so sorry to hear about Bruce's homegoing. What has been a shock and a grievous surprise for us was not so for The Lord. We grieve, but not as those who have no hope. Remember, "Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his saints" (Psa, 116:15). Praying for you all,

Dear Lori, Thom and Ed,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Bruce's passing. I have not seen him for many years but I have so many good memories of early days at OP Wesleyan. Bruce, Rich Kirby, Gene Wing. Kathy Smith and I were all part of a folk group back in the late 60's or early 70's. There were others in the group but these are the people I remember. We had many laughs and even sang for a large youth convention in Canada.
I know Bruce will be deeply missed. He will always be with you. He will lay in the same cemetery as my mother, father and sister. God bless you all, Linda
