August 31, 2017 Wife of Jerome W. Yates, MD; dear mother of Elizabeth
(Jason) Yates-Horton and Sarah (Zachary) Kaus; dear grandmother
of Grace Horton and Madison Kaus; sister of Michael (Charlotte), Mark,
Kevin, and the late John (Mary Ellen) McAuley and Maureen (James) LoBue.
She was the Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a graduate of
Mount Mercy Academy, the University of Vermont School of Nursing (BSN)
and Boston College (MSN). She was a Public Health Nurse for the Vermont
Health Department, a maternal-child educator in Washington, DC and subsequently
worked for Univera Health Plan as a maternal-child educator.
She was active in the Orchard Park PTO, served on the Selection Committee
for OPHS "Pride" for 15 years and was a member of St. Bernadette
RC Church. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling with her family,
and was thrilled by her grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may visit the F. E. BROWN FUNERAL HOME 6575 E.
Quaker St. on Monday from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at St. Bernadette RC Church, 5930 S. Abbott Rd., Orchard Park, on Tuesday morning
at 10 a.m. Please assemble at church.
