My memories of Rita begin in late grade school (around 5th grade) and peak through Jr. High...then we moved away. My lasting friendship with Heidi is based on a childhood filled with fun, adventure, mischief, percussion, sports and spending endless hours at each other’s houses. Rita would get after us for running in and out of the house or horse playing in the living room, and she would yell for Heidi to come to her then proceed to tell Heidi that we needed to “knock it off!!” Lol we really caught heck the time we got busted throwing chestnuts at cars...ooooo boy!! But I don’t remember Rita ratting me out to my mom.....very cool of her! Lol I was also fortunate enough to be invited on many trips to the family cabin where there was no TV!! Rita let us run pretty wild....let us jump into the gushing creek after the new pipe was put in and made sure we pitched in to help around the cabin. It is where I learned how to wash dishes by hand!!!! She taught me the “order” of what goes in the water first....not the dirtiest...not the plates! I’ve never forgotten this. Lol Rita was nice and sometimes scary but I knew she liked me because she let me hang around and let Heidi hang with us Brekke’s....where a share of mischievous things took place in good old Eagle Heights! I am so happy that I was able to visit with Rita again a couple years ago...she was a part of my most excellent childhood. I loved both Mr. and Mrs. Brown. RIP Rita thanks for having an impact on my life. #youwillliveinmyheart #always My prayers go out to all the family!
