Dear Tom and Heidi and family,
I am very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. It is always difficult to come up with words that can adequately express one’s feelings at a time like this. I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a great friend to many and he will be missed dearly.
Looking at that big smile in this posted photo reminds me of all the good times. I had a lot of laughs with Joe over the years. They usually revolved around baseball or some summer picnic/party. I attended countless Bisons’ games with Joe. To this day, there are probably many former opposing AAA ballplayers that are still hearing Joe’s heckling in their ear. I happened to be looking through some of my wedding photos from 2007 just a couple of days before I heard of Joe’s passing. There is a photo of Joe with a friend of ours that he didn’t know until that night. He had that same big smile on his face and had so much fun. He had a warm personality that was endearing to everyone he met.
I bet he is playing Shreck right now and I’m sure there is a Super Bowl pool in Heaven that already has “Big Joe” on a square.
God Bless. Rest in peace Big Joe.
