My prayers are with you and especially for Rita. It has been such a gift to have been inspired by her self-giving and dedication especially to those confined to nursing homes and at Father Baker Manor. As it snows today, I still remember her determination to bring communion to the sick, even in the midst of snow and bad weather. Fortitude and determined dedication, her smile and laughter - her love for God and neighbor.
This week-end, I will be out of state and unable to attend her funeral mass - limited by our physical body, but not by our spirit - I will join in prayer with you! Now for a blessing......
We thank God for the gift of Rita's sight---through her eyes, she was able to see God in all creation and in each person she encountered.
We thank God for the gift of her hearing---thru that gift, she was able to come to know God through the proclamation of the scriptures. She was able to discern each voice and discern the meaning and understanding of those she encountered.
We thank God for the gift of her voice--we call Jesus, the Word of God - through Rita's unique voice, we came to know her great love for all.
We thank God for the gift of her hands--for the ways that she reached out in love and ministry-for the ways she co-created with God in the work God called her to do---for the ways she left her fingerprints on our lives.
We thank God for the gift of her feet---for the way she followed in the footsteps of Jesus as she journey through life. For the way she walked the mystery of the cross in her life. She left her unique footprints on our hearts and minds.
We thank God for gift of her heart. A heart created in love, through love, and for love from the very beginning of her existence in her mother's womb. That love that gave life and energy to her body throughout these years. Now as she continues her journey into the loving Heart of God--may she know eternal joy and peace.
Thank you Rita! The Lord bless you and keep you! God grant you eternal rest and peace as you journey into eternal Love.
Sr. Jean Klimczak (chaplain at Father Baker Manor)

I first met Rita when she accompanied Carol to Olean for a librarian position. Both of them came to mean so much to me.
I would call Rita when she was at home or in the nursing homes, and we4 would have wonderful chats. She adored her family, and Rita liked nothing better than to share stories about her family. She absolutely delighted in her grandchildren. We always talked about food too!
Sweet Rita suffered her illnesses of the past four years with great dignity and forbearance. I will miss Rita so. My love and prayers to all her family.
