Condolences to Melissa, Dan & Olivia as well as extended family. Even though ‘uncle’ John was my Dad’s cousin they were more like brothers growing up. I have fond memories as a young woman being with John, Tony & my dad at Aunt Mamie’s for her homemade ravioli and listening to their raucous stories of growing up on the East side of Buffalo. The trio of John, Tony & Joe were great friends as well as family. They were part of our Greatest Generation for sure, and will be missed but never forgotten.
God bless them all.

Uncle John and Aunt Hedi were my God Parents... I have great memories of staying overnight at their house in the summers in Derby, NY. Aunt Hedi and Uncle John were always so much fun ! Our heart broke when they lost my cousin Johnny ( their son) in a boating accident, I'll never forget the sad story of them going to the hospital following an ambulance "thinking" it was their son who was rescued.... only to find out it was Johnny's friend rescued and that their son had drowned. I too lost my brother at 13 when he was hit by a truck. I remember having conversations and crying with my Aunt and Uncle about the great losses to our families...Thats a loss no family ever gets over, you carry that forever and your life has a new normal.
Uncle John and my Dad and Uncle Tony were pranksters... always joking around and having fun. Aunt Mamie used to make them Ravioli and they so looked forward to going to her house so she could spoil them~ she treated them so special. I also remember our corn roasts when we would have all our cousins over and play baseball in our back yard. Such good times way back then..and as the years passed we kind of lost touch with one another. I would often wonder how Uncle John was doing and say a little prayer for him. WoW 93 Years young ! May the Lord keep you and may you RIP Uncle John... I've always loved you , Until we meet again in that mansion God has provided for us... say hi to Aunt Hedi, Johnny , Aunt Mamie, My DAD Joe, Aunt Marge, Uncle Sonny, Uncle Tony, Aunt Rose, and Margret Turner... Oh ya and don't forget to save a place for us. Hugs and Prayers to the family...
