I've been thinking of Andrew a lot. From the times he made me laugh in high school to eating fresh picked rhubarb. He made such an impact on me and he was such a great individual. It was a privilege and an honor to have met him. His family is in my hearts and thoughts as wel

I had both the honor and pleasure of seeing Andrew perform with his Sinfonia Brothers at SUNY Fredonia. It was pure joy! In time, may the light of his life shine again in you. Until then, may God keep you and sustain you. Sending prayers for peace to the whole Ernst Family.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Ernst family at this time. I met Andrew 2 years ago through a PMA province trip. We hit it off and became fast friends. I’ll never forget his boundless wit, the pride he took in his tie collection, his deep appreciation for Animal Collective, or the seemingly endless memes he had stored in his camera roll. He was a true Sinfonian and a fantastic add to the brotherhood of Phi Mu Alpha. Most importantly, he was a good guy. I will miss Andrew deeply.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Andrew in EDU 250 last year. I really enjoyed having him in class and I loved to watch him teach at the middle school. The time that he spent at the middle school truly made a difference in the life of the young man he worked with. I'm sure Andrew's kindness, bright spirit, and fantastic Christmas suit will be fondly remembered by all who worked with him. His light shined on all of us and will remain with us forever. Please accept my sincere condolences. I am very sorry for your loss.

I first met Andrew my freshman year at SUNY Fredonia. We both lived in the same dorm freshman year and were the same major and had classes together. When I decided to change majors, he was so supportive. When ever I saw him in the academic buildings he always had a smile on his face and I always loved the ties he wore. He had such an amazing soul and he will be greatly missed.

I met Andrew in middle school at Orchard Park and we became friends for those three years. He was such a sweet kid. The night I moved in at Fredonia freshman year, he noticed me walking down the stairs and went "Tessa!" and I remember being so happy that someone knew me and there would be a familiar face in the building that year. I was so sad to hear about his passing last week. He was such a great person and always had a smile on his face when I saw him on campus. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ernst family.

Amanda,
My heart feels so so deeply for you during this time. I remember all the time growing up and coming over to your house where Andrew would join in our games or we would “force him” to play something with us lol. I also have the best memories of Andrew coming up to HH to say hi to us in the lifeguard office. The thing that has been always clear is how much big sister love and care you had for him. I am holding you and your whole family so close during this time. I am here for you.
I love you!
- Claire

“Gone but never forgotten” - Andrew was an active member of our Educational Psychology class this term – curious, engaged, and sincere come to mind as ways to describe him. He was such a likeable person and a pleasure to have in class. On behalf of all of his class members, I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Andrew was a beautiful soul! I taught him last semester at Fredonia in Adolescent Development. I still remember the first day of class when we did introductions. He was in his usual shirt and tie, and concluded his introductions by saying, "and yes, I always dress like this." He was a gentleman and a scholar, and was kind and inclusive to everyone. I very much enjoyed knowing him! My thought and prayers are with you, and my heart breaks for you.
